We’ve added a new video. Forgot to say in the video if you don’t have any magazines, you could draw or print out pictures.
Hello everyone, we hope you have had a lovely, sfae weekend! Year 1 parents will be sent a timetable through parentpay today, again please do what you can, these are just suggestions, we completely understand how hard it can be juggling everything!
Here is a lovely link to online prayers and Sunday Liturgies that we use at school and it’s now become available for parents. You might want to share these at home with your families during this uncertain time.
Have a lovely day! If you have time and your child wants to (!), do continue with Numbots and there is an activity in your ‘To Do’ on Purplemash but please no rush! Miss Locke will update you with her lovely video on writing captions later. Take care.
Hi everyone, we would just like to say thank you for supporting us this week. We hope you’ve had a lovely week and enjoyed this wonderful sunshine. Thank you for the emails too, hopefully you have received our replies! We love all the outdoor play and learning you are doing! Here are some of the pictures you have kindly shared with us! Its so lovely to see all of your children so happy.
We also loved the idea of a daily diary, a lovely idea!
Here is your daily update from Miss Locke, it is great you are using the video ideas at home, thank you!
Year 1 parents will receive a timetable via email with just a little advise on some specific activities you can do in your day but again do what you can, outdoor play in the garden is brilliant!
Have a lovely weekend! We will keep adding to the blog when we receive emails. Many thanks.
Hi everyone,
New video uploaded.
Hope you’ve been able to get some fresh air in this lovely weather.
Don’t forget we’re going to share some pictures tomorrow so please send us some things you’ve been up to.
Best wishes
Miss Locke and Mrs Dalton
Today in my house we sang the ‘The Gruffalo Song.’ Your children will be familiar with this song as we have sung it in class many times, they might even show you some actions! We then cut out shapes and stuck them to make a gruffalo’s face, see below. Hopefully you can see the resemblance with the Gruffalo!
Once again thank you for being so supportive during this time. Please email us with any questions you have and photos of the lovely things your children have been doing at home and we will share these at the end of the week. In your email please let us know if you would like the photos to go on the blog, no problem if not, it would just be lovely to see your children happy! We would also love to see photos of your children listening to stories! Your child should have brought home a reading challenge on World Book Day, there are some lovely challenges on that. We completely understand lots of you are working so please do what you can, even if it’s just reading to your child daily, this is more important than anything. We don’t want anyone feeling anxious with doing activities at home as we certainly know how challenging it can be! Thank you.
Hi everyone,
Hope your first day at home went well yesterday.
We’ve enjoyed joining in with the body coach at 9 this morning and then RWI videos. See previous posts for the link for these.
We’ve done a new video with a few activities you might like to do. You can watch it here.
I’ve also put a quick video of the game in action on the Youtube channel. Hope you find it helpful.

Have good day everyone and stay safe
Hello everyone,
Hope you are keeping safe and well and getting used to new routines at home. Last week, we sent home a timetable with some ideas on how to structure your day along with some additional resources you may find useful.
We are going to try and add bits to the blog as much as we can over the coming weeks. If there is anyone you know who doesn’t use the blog please can you let them know and spread the word.
Below, is a link to a YouTube video I have made where I share some simple activities you could play at home along with a timetable you may find useful.

We also have a new email address just for R/Y1. We would love to hear all about the learning you have been doing at home and see some pictures of this in action. At the end of the week we will do a special blog post where we will share some of the pictures (only with your permission) you have sent us. That way the children can see what there friends have been doing too! The email address is also an opportunity for you to ask us any questions or advice if you are struggling with anything.

Your child should have come home with some additional reading books today. We will try our best to get resources out to those children who have not been able to attend school. The idea with the reading books is that you will focus on one per week, increasing your child’s fluency with each read. We usually read the books at least three times in school. We have also provided some books of the next colour up. Please start with the books on your child’s current colour (the one they have been doing over the last few weeks). Save the next colour book for when you have read all the others. In case you are unsure which colour comes next, here is the list of colours in order.
Ditty Sheet
Red
Green
Purple
Pink
Orange
Yellow
Blue
Grey
Please be aware that this list covers both Reception and Year 1 and that we are only two thirds through the academic year so please don’t worry that your child hasn’t gone through all the colours.
We have also sent home some sounds. For Year 1 children, they have both set 2 and set 3 sounds. For Reception children, they have set 2 sounds and if confident, your child may want to start learning set 3 sounds. If your child has been reading red books, they will not have started to learn set 2 sounds but will need to start learning over the coming weeks. We will support you with this and there will be more information to follow.
In addition to this, RWI (the phonics programme we follow) have released the following information
RWI Phonics lessons at home from Monday 23rd March
We’re scheduling free Read Write Inc. Phonics lessons on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home; three short Speed Sound lessons with one of our trainers every day for the next two weeks. Films will only be available at the times below:

Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am and again at 1.00 pm

We would highly recommend your child take part in these lessons everyday if you can.
You can also sign up as a parent on the oxford owl website and access lots of ebooks. You will be able to choose the appropriate colour book for your child.
Follow this link to access these books

Over the coming weeks, we will provide more information about how to best use the phonics books and how to help your child with learning their sounds.
Finally, a little plea… we have sent out a large number of our phonics books and they are quite expensive to purchase. Please can you take good care of the books and return them all when we are back at school.
We’ve really appreciated all your support this week. We will be working hard over the coming weeks to support your child at home as well as supporting those who will need to come to school.
